Born.

Privacy

What we keep — and what we don't.

Born is built to be quiet. We don't run analytics on your day, sell your inputs, or follow you across the web.

What we store

  • The birth date and city you enter, plus the generated story (cached so we don't re-fetch APIs every visit).
  • If you purchase or gift: the email Stripe collects for the receipt, and — for gifts — the recipient's name. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see your card.
  • An anonymous count of total stories generated.

What we don't store

  • No accounts, no passwords, no profile.
  • No tracking pixels, no third-party analytics, no advertising IDs.
  • No retained IP logs or device fingerprints beyond standard server access logs.

Where the data comes from

Weather: Open-Meteo. Headlines & on-this-day events: Wikipedia & Wikimedia. #1 song: Billboard Hot 100. Prices & the S&P 500: FRED (Federal Reserve). Cosmos image: NASA APOD.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive a confirmation that a session completed and the metadata needed to unlock your certificate (date, city, gift recipient name). Card details never touch our servers.
